Can I get point cloud from Kinect withouth callback function?

I am doing a student work based on OSG and PCL. I want to get point cloud from kinect inside OSG's Loop. But I can't find any PCL-Kinect sample code without callback function :( Now it became very complicated with several callback functions working together from both OSG and PCL-Kinect.
Can you provide a piece of sample code catching point cloud from Kinect in PCL without callback function?
